One of the greatest privileges of being a Christian is that — though God does save us to a personal relationship with him — he also saves us to something bigger. He saves us to be a part of his story. And His story is big and grand and worldwide. His plan is also local. The great commission not only involves being a part of God’s plan for redemption throughout the globe, it also involves fulfilling it right here at home. God has called us to preach the gospel to ALL nations and ALL people. He has called to us preach it to our friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and the stranger we meet on the street.
Our belief at Grace Church is that this is something every believer is called to, and it’s not restricted to an event, time, or place. The clothing drive through Community Aid gives you the opportunity to go to your neighbors and either begin a relationship or deepen a relationship. We are also partnering with our neighbors at Willow Valley Associates in order to help our neighbors at Water Street Mission. We want to help you understand and see that building a relationship with someone is not complicated. It can be as simple as letting them know what we are doing at church and asking if they would be willing to donate. Maybe in that process you can ask if you can pray for them.
No matter where you live, God has placed this tremendous call and opportunity for us to proclaim the gospel to everyone we come in contact with. What better way than to do it together as a church family!
