John F. Smith

Blog: PJ’s Spiritual Meanderings

Pastor John is most visible in his role as Lead Pastor on Sunday mornings, but his passion to help others grow in their relationship with Christ spills over into his entire week. John and his wife, Sharon, arrived in Lancaster in September of 1989. Prior to his pastoral ministry at Grace, John led congregations in both the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh areas. He was equipped for ministry via his training at Philadelphia College of Bible (now Cairn University), and Biblical Theological Seminary. In May of 2003, John was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree from Grace Theological Seminary.

Currently his greater kingdom ministries include teaching as an adjunct professor at Lancaster Bible College and serving as a chaplain with the West Lampeter Township Police Department. In addition, John is a member of the boards of Grace College and Seminary and Hebrew Christian Fellowship.

John and Sharon love to take walks together and talk about their grandchildren (they have 8). They have two daughters, Emily who is married to Matthew Hershey and Kate who is married to Ryan Aument. They also have a son, Tim who is married to Kelly Rohrer Smith.
