It’s a jungle out there!
Finding a job isn’t as easy as opening the newspaper or going to a website with job postings. 85% of jobs never get advertised! Much of finding a job involves who you know, being prepared, and presenting yourself well.
Instructors Joe Shiffer and Marie Prichard have a combined 30+ years of experience in teaching individuals how to prepare themselves for the job market. Before the government closed the Lancaster Employment and Training Agency five years ago, Joe served as Director and Marie taught as a Senior Instructor. They had a placement success rate between 94% and 100%. Marie has written over 1000 resumes. If you want knowledgeable, passionate, gifted teachers, this free training is for you!
Joe and Marie will cram 40 hours of material into twelve. They will dispel myths about job searching and reveal the pitfalls. They will teach you how to get your paperwork together, from resume to cover letter. They will help you identify your skill set so you can talk about yourself confidently in an interview. They will teach you how to negotiate a salary and how to dress for the job.
Marie insists you can’t get the job you want unless you have your documents and yourself ready. Even if you know what field you plan to work in, you need to prepare yourself for the job hunt process. This is your job search, so you will need to be committed to the four-week seminar.
Please join us!
Joe and Marie want to share their vast experience with friends at Grace because the job search process is not getting easier, even though there are lots of jobs available. They are passionate and professional. And they know what works. Marie declares, “I can’t wait to get started!”
If you’d like to be a part of this unique class, RSVP to the deacons (firstname.lastname@example.org) by March 29th. Space is limited to 10 students.
